Best boutique historic hotel in Alexandria. Ask for Mostafa for best hookah service. Food is excellent. People are absolutely wonderful.

This is a great location in a very classical place. However, I told the management team that food delivery should not be left on the sidewalk in the Sun for more than 40 minutes! Milk, yoghurt, beer, water, chicken, etc. are exposed to the heat without proper refrigeration. This needs to be addressed immediately!

We chose San Giovanni for a special occasion, drawn by the classic wood décor and the beautiful window-side view, but the service was an absolute embarrassment. Despite paying a 500 EGP deposit via WhatsApp, I arrived to find a 'preset menu' I never ordered. Instead of rectifying their internal error, the host had the audacity to ask me for 'proof' that I didn't order the food, siding with a co-worker’s mistake rather than the guest. I had to escalate to a manager just to be heard. The Breakdown: The Good: The atmosphere, the candles, and the classic setup were well-done. The location remains its only saving grace. The Bad: Both the food and drinks were below average—completely underwhelming for a venue of this supposed caliber. The Ugly: After the service failures, they offered a cake as a 'compensation' gesture, only to sneak it onto the final bill. I didn't make a scene because I didn't want to ruin the night further, but charging for a 'complimentary' apology cake is a low move. This was our first time at San Giovanni, and given the lack of integrity and poor performance, it will absolutely be our last.

It's a perfect 3 star hotel. The hotel is old with classic vibes but it's super clean and tidy. Breakfast was good with the same food everyday, but really fresh and delicious. Room was old furnitured but super clean. The staff are really amazing and friendly, and treats you likr a VIP. Terrace area is the best with great view.
