About Grounds Bakery

Looking for a bakery in Maadi, Cairo? Grounds Bakery is one of the options in this directory, registered at رقم 12، معادي السرايات الغربية، قسم المعادي، محافظة القاهرة 4212102; below are its hours, contact details and reviews.
Eating out in Egypt runs late: dinner often starts after 20:00, and many restaurants and cafés stay open until midnight and beyond, especially on Thursday nights and in summer. Delivery is everywhere, either by calling the restaurant or through apps such as Talabat and elmenus, sometimes with different prices and offers on each. Many restaurants add a 12 % service charge and 14 % VAT to the bill, so ask for the final price; tipping is customary but optional. During Ramadan the timings shift, with the main rush at iftar and service running on towards suhoor. Bakeries sell baladi bread, fino rolls and pastries, with subsidised bread distributed through the ration-card system, while patisseries get busiest in Ramadan for konafa and qatayef and before Eid al-Fitr for kahk and biscuits, so order large quantities early.
Opening hours are published for all seven days of the week. The most common schedule is 08:00–00:00. Timings usually change during Ramadan, at Eid and on other public holidays, and some shops open later on Friday around midday prayers, so call before a long trip. The listed phone number is 010 3636 1326. From abroad dial +20 and then the number without its leading zero (five-digit hotlines work only from within Egypt); calling ahead is the norm for bookings and to confirm timings.
Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 93 reviews, a high score, though the most recent reviews are still the best guide to what visitors find today.
This business is in Maadi, Cairo Governorate, part of Greater Cairo, Egypt's capital and the largest urban area in the Arab world, spreading along both banks of the Nile from Downtown, Zamalek, Garden City, Heliopolis and Maadi to new cities such as New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October and the New Administrative Capital, with the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum on its edge. The Cairo Metro's three lines link many districts, but traffic is part of daily life, so allow extra time at rush hour. Summers are hot and dry, winters mild with little rain, and streets and shops stay busy late into the night.

First time I went it was brilliant. Beautiful pastries and I coyldnt wait to return to try the tiramisu french toast. Returned today and so dissapointed. Menu totally changed. Only deserts available are the ones exposed to the air. Ordered creme brulee flan. Served with an eyelash on top. Changed for another. Honestly, the flavour is good but the pastry is thick and totally raw. Tasted floury and inedible. Ate the custard. No one questioned this so I can't rate the service on that. The coffee was served like warm (as it was last tome) and both times I asked for it to be warmed up. With standards dropping so fast I can't see this place surviving long sadly.

Another Maadi’s gem: a bakery shop prioritising quality and perfection. Ordered: 1. Ice Americano 2. Spanish Matcha Latte Frappe 3. Raspberry Pistachio Croissant 4. Pain Suisse Dark chocolate One word to describe; delectable. Pain Suisse was chewy, buttery and flaky. Very strong dark chocolate flavour, came along with fresh Raspberry pistachio croissant that highlight my dining. Big portion, rich filling and buttery — splendid. Coffee was excellent, also the matcha. Service was accommodating and friendly which made my visit even more tempting. Not to forget how refreshing and spotless the place is, combination of white and red theme gives elegant touch as its signature. Definitely a spot for pastry enthusiast out there, give it a try!

So happy to have found this cute little place on instagram 🍰 they have a really nice selection of pastries. I ordered a salted caramel latte & pain suisse and they were great. They use Ethiopian beans (70% arabica 30% robusta) with a chocolate note. 💫 they have a huge outdoors area and a cute little indoors area. 👦🏻 nice service 👌🏻 They're only a few weeks old but I would really recommend it! Definitely coming again
