About مطعم ماماي
مطعم ماماي is an Egyptian restaurant in Al Gamaleya, Cairo. It is listed at ١٣ شارع بيت القاضي, المعز لدين الله الفاطمي، الجمالية، محافظة القاهرة 4331311, and this page gathers what people usually check before a visit: where it is, how to get there, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Eating out in Egypt runs late: dinner often starts after 20:00, and many restaurants and cafés stay open until midnight and beyond, especially on Thursday nights and in summer. Delivery is everywhere, either by calling the restaurant or through apps such as Talabat and elmenus, sometimes with different prices and offers on each. Many restaurants add a 12 % service charge and 14 % VAT to the bill, so ask for the final price; tipping is customary but optional. During Ramadan the timings shift, with the main rush at iftar and service running on towards suhoor. Egyptian home cooking means dishes such as molokhia, mahshi, fatta, hawawshi, stuffed pigeon and baked rice, and many restaurants cook different dishes on different days of the week, so ask about the dish of the day and portion sizes before ordering, especially for a group.
Opening hours are published for all seven days of the week. The most common schedule is 09:00–02:00. Timings usually change during Ramadan, at Eid and on other public holidays, and some shops open later on Friday around midday prayers, so call before a long trip. You can reach مطعم ماماي on 012 0666 3325; calling is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses in Egypt also answer on WhatsApp.
Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 3,830 reviews, a high score, though the most recent reviews are still the best guide to what visitors find today.
This business is in Al Gamaleya, Cairo Governorate, part of Greater Cairo, Egypt's capital and the largest urban area in the Arab world, spreading along both banks of the Nile from Downtown, Zamalek, Garden City, Heliopolis and Maadi to new cities such as New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October and the New Administrative Capital, with the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum on its edge. The Cairo Metro's three lines link many districts, but traffic is part of daily life, so allow extra time at rush hour. Summers are hot and dry, winters mild with little rain, and streets and shops stay busy late into the night.

A true gem in Cairo for anyone wanting to experience Egypt’s soul in one evening. Mami Restaurant takes you on a journey through authentic Egyptian history from the grandeur of the Pharaonic era to the vibrant spirit of modern Egypt all brought to life through a stunning live show. The ambiance is magical, the singers’ voices are absolutely mesmerizing, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome a special shoutout to Omar for his warmth and hospitality. If you’re visiting Cairo, this is an experience you simply cannot miss. Highly, highly recommended!”

Amazing food, been there twice. One of the best lambs I ever had. Great show in the evening, also great facilities, and friendly staff. Even though the place can seem too good, the food was the best we had in entire Cairo. One friendly suggestion - staff should improve its english a bit

That was a mixed feelings experience thanks to the manager, he was very unprofessional when we expressed that the grilles chicken was unedible and hard to cut through, we send the 2 orders back (overcooked and dry), he kept arguing trying to proof the chicken was fine, although I told him the rest of the food was ok and we liked it but the chicken for us was unacceptable and we will order something else later which we did. When it was time to pay we fou d the chickens still in the bill and he was pushing us to pay for it, although for a group of 6 (mostly kids and teenagers) our bill was already over 5K, he still could not let it go. He was rude as well on our way out. Unlike the nasty manager, the rest of the staff was helpful and the service was good, Mlukhiya, oven cooked rice with meat, mombar and Kofta was good, the kids liked the pizza they got as well. The vibes of the performance is also good and the tanoura was enjoyable. The manager bummed our outing with his negative attitude and bad hospitality.

We got early to have a spot near the area. Food was delicious (pizza tajine and lamb fatteh). Live music was great, and the dancers did an amazing performance, engaging with the crowd. It's a bit more expensive than traditional Egyptian restaurants, but we'll with the money. Highly recommended Adham our server was very attentive.

Great service and beautiful atmosphere! Adham and Khaled were great, they even gave us their phone to see the menu since we didn't have any internet in ours. They were always there in case you needed anything else, always very responsive and kind. We tried Fateer and I totally recommend it, especially the sweet ones, they have one with nutella and banana 10/10 👌🍫.
