With anything on wheels the basics apply: agree the price up front, get an invoice and keep the service history, which helps the resale value. Radar cameras are common on highways and in town, and fines are recorded against the vehicle licence and must be paid before renewal. Many owners convert their engines to natural gas to save on fuel, so ask about authorised conversion centres. After an accident, garages generally will not start insured repairs without a police report and the insurer's approval. Ask to see the replaced parts and whether they are genuine, aftermarket or used, and remember that a new-car warranty may require scheduled servicing at the dealer or an authorised centre.
