About pottery cafe

pottery cafe is a café in Maadi, Cairo. It is listed at 14 ش 9, قسم المعادي، محافظة القاهرة 4212002, and this page gathers what people usually check before a visit: where it is, how to get there, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Eating out in Egypt runs late: dinner often starts after 20:00, and many restaurants and cafés stay open until midnight and beyond, especially on Thursday nights and in summer. Delivery is everywhere, either by calling the restaurant or through apps such as Talabat and elmenus, sometimes with different prices and offers on each. Many restaurants add a 12 % service charge and 14 % VAT to the bill, so ask for the final price; tipping is customary but optional. During Ramadan the timings shift, with the main rush at iftar and service running on towards suhoor. Egypt's café culture runs from the traditional ahwa and Turkish coffee to modern cafés and specialty coffee in the new cities and malls; many offer Wi-Fi and space to work or study, and some set a minimum spend at busy times.

The business lists hours for all seven days of the week. The most common schedule is 09:00–03:00. Expect different timings in Ramadan and on public holidays, and a short closure at Friday prayer time in smaller shops. The listed phone number is 02 2380 1276. From abroad dial +20 and then the number without its leading zero (five-digit hotlines work only from within Egypt); calling ahead is the norm for bookings and to confirm timings.

With 4.0 out of 5 on Google from 778 reviews, opinions look fair to good; the detailed comments usually say more than the score about service, prices and waiting times.

This business is in Maadi, Cairo Governorate, part of Greater Cairo, Egypt's capital and the largest urban area in the Arab world, spreading along both banks of the Nile from Downtown, Zamalek, Garden City, Heliopolis and Maadi to new cities such as New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October and the New Administrative Capital, with the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum on its edge. The Cairo Metro's three lines link many districts, but traffic is part of daily life, so allow extra time at rush hour. Summers are hot and dry, winters mild with little rain, and streets and shops stay busy late into the night.

Last time I went, I ordered a mango passion fruit smoothie, and the waiter was like no you have to also order a dessert. I thought this minimum charge BS was outlawed. Anyways, I ordered a tiramisu, which was mid. And there were tons of flies roaming inside the cafe and across the food. This was just blunt disgusting. You just lost a customer. This was my 5th time here.

Place is dirty. We ordered 2 tuna sandwiches and paid over 700 pounds. Food is way below average. The fries looked like they were left over from someone else's order. Table covers came 5 mins after the food arrived. Water took 30 mins to arrive and not to mention how untrained and unprofessional the staff are. I would never go back to any of their venues ever again. Shame on you.

Woke up to that Cairo heat, streets hummin’ low, Took a ride to Maadi, where the green trees grow. Leafy lanes whisper, breeze got that grace, Found a spot called Pottery Café, peaceful place. Baristas in the cut, man, they love what they do, Hands steady on the tamp, steam risin’ through. Espresso hums like a heartbeat in time, Few grinders grindin’, that rhythm’s divine. Filter gear sittin’, like “yo, I’m next,” Craftin’ cups of culture, got my mind perplexed. Sippin’ art in a mug, yeah, flavor so deep, They pour passion in the crema, not just caffeine cheap. Menu stacked proper — from latte to bite, Food hittin’ like verses that just feel right. Seatin’ for days, no rush, no cap, Sunbeam on my table, I recline, I rap. It’s a vibe, no doubt, from the start to the end, Pottery Café, you a place I commend. Got that Maadi calm, city soul intact, Yo, I’m writin’ this rhyme — and I will be back.

The café offered an enjoyable experience with good food and drinks. However, the service fees, particularly the tax, were noticeably steep. Despite this drawback, the inviting atmosphere and diverse menu options made it a worthwhile visit overall.
