Egyptian Comfort Food at a Great Price We found Toma to be a quiet step away from blaring lights, music and crowds of people in this busy restaurant area. We were very satisfied with our experience. The space was crowded but clean. The service wasn’t quick, but we enjoyed sitting outside watching people passing by. We ordered koshery—a mix of lentils, rice, pasta, and crispy onions—and a baked casserole with sogo’(Egyptian sausage). Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. The sogo’ was very good for a “fast-food” restaurant. The spices were flavorful. We ordered extra hot sauce, which brought just the right amount of heat. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. To top it off, they include a small serving of rice pudding—a sweet little treat that rounded out the meal. The inside seating was packed, so we opted to sit outside. To do that, we had to order the food as take-away and then sit outside. They brought the food to us. The cashier was very nice and explained all the options for meal sizes. They had a person cleaning up the outside seating, so we asked if he could clean off our table and he did.
