Judge a place like this on a clear menu with prices, visible hygiene and recent, consistent reviews rather than décor. Food outlets are licensed by the district or the new-city authority and inspected by the National Food Safety Authority, and most menus are in Arabic, many in English too. Thursday nights and holidays are the busiest, and popular places fill up on Ramadan nights and at Eid, so book ahead. Cash is still common in popular eateries, while larger restaurants take cards, mobile wallets and InstaPay. Bakeries sell baladi bread, fino rolls and pastries, with subsidised bread distributed through the ration-card system, while patisseries get busiest in Ramadan for konafa and qatayef and before Eid al-Fitr for kahk and biscuits, so order large quantities early.
The business lists hours for all seven days of the week. Typical hours are 08:00–00:00. Expect different timings in Ramadan and on public holidays, and a short closure at Friday prayer time in smaller shops. You can reach Miette French Bakery Maadi on 010 3333 3800; calling is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses in Egypt also answer on WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, facebook.com.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 217 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect before you commit to a visit.
This business is in Maadi, Cairo Governorate, part of Greater Cairo, Egypt's capital and the largest urban area in the Arab world, spreading along both banks of the Nile from Downtown, Zamalek, Garden City, Heliopolis and Maadi to new cities such as New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October and the New Administrative Capital, with the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum on its edge. The Cairo Metro's three lines link many districts, but traffic is part of daily life, so allow extra time at rush hour. Summers are hot and dry, winters mild with little rain, and streets and shops stay busy late into the night.

Moldy Cheese & Poor Hygiene! miette used to be one of my go to spots, but recently, the quality has really dropped. I first noticed the unprofessionalism of the new staff last month when I watched an employee handling a croissant bare-handed. Today was even worse. I ordered a Jack cheese croissant and was shocked to find mold inside the cheese. And no, it wasn't pepper of jack cheese I looked closely and it was definitely mold. To make matters worse, my espresso was served to me in a dirty mug alongside the food. A very disappointing experience.

Nice little hideout for getting some work done. The place is calm and comfortable, especially in the morning or after midday when the sun isn’t too strong. I ordered an extra hot latte and it was really nice. They also have Wi-Fi. Would recommend if you’re looking for a spot to focus.

Nice, quiet ambiance. The croissant was flaky and buttery, it was really good for the price. Only problem was the iced tea was terrible.

We loved the food! The croissant was the top highlight of the day, those are the almond and chocolate croissant They bake everything fresh order by order The display fridge is just to show how the desserts look yet they bake you a totally fresh one when you order We had the halloumi sandwich, the ciabatta bread was perfectly toasted and baked, not too thin and not too thick perfectly sized for the filling portion. However, we wanted the brown ciabatta and they only had white The coffee was very good as well, the beans themself are of good flavor so every drink we tried was tasty The only drawback we had was when paying the cheque, we were a group of friends and each paying their share, they refused to take some of the payment in cash and the rest via credit card payments They said you can only pay in one transaction with a card or just collect the money in cash Some of us didn’t have any cash on them so we had a hassle and eventually just paid the whole bill with one card cause they refused to even use multiple cards Usually we don’t face any problems as those They said you need to let us knows from the beginning so we would issue separate bills and you can pay using multiple cards

Cute spot right across from CAC. It’s small but has nice outdoor seating. Came on a Friday morning and had the place all to myself. The sausage omelet was fantastic! I highly recommend and will definitely return for that specifically. Next to the omelette, they also serve some potatoes/fries and salad. The fries were kinda stale-hard and not very tasty, and the salad was drowned in dressing, which made it difficult to eat (and I actually enjoy salad normally). Perhaps this varies based on who’s preparing the food. The price was low enough that I’ll likely return for the omelette even if the rest of the plate isn’t edible (also beware, if they ask if you want cheese on your omelette that’s an extra 20LE on top of the 55LE price). I also got a chocolate croissant, which was quite nice, and a mocha. The mocha tasted like warmed up milk with a hint of coffee and a hint of chocolate. I would not recommend their mocha (perhaps a smaller cup with less milk or making it a double would help with this?)
